Southeast Asia/United Kingdom - Week of August 19: England Week 2/Wales Week 1

I'm embracing the first full week in the United Kingdom! I started the week in Weymouth, returned to London by train for a night and took another couple of trains (and a transfer bus as I would learn) to Cardiff Airport to pick up my rental car. My first destination in Wales would be the Boulston Manor Country House Bed and Breakfast - a farm setting just outside of Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire. I would end the week traveling to Betws y Coed in North Wales to check into Oakfield House Bed and Breakfast. Snowdon Mountain, the highest peak in Wales at 1,085 m, is found in this part of the country. I chose these two different locations as the topography is significantly different as well as the local's anticipated demeanour.  Being back in this part of the world is different. While I am surrounded by more familiarity, the vibe is different. I'm still processing to identify the appropriate words to describe the change. Southeast Asia - Week of June 18: Philippines Week 2

Welcome to Week #2 in the Philippines. I spent Sunday through Saturday morning at the Ananyana Beach Resort. I enjoyed the first day so much I extended my stay until Saturday. Please last week's blogpost for more specific info about my new home for the week. Was an incredibly enjoyable week in my new location and with my new family! I'm so excited to introduce you to my new amazing 'family' who ensured my stay on Doljo Beach was the best experience ever!  Here is the Ananyana Team Amazing and the super heroes who are on the team! I think I was spoiled. I had the most exceptional breakfasts and dinners, prepared with love and attention, by my friends who really cared about their guests. Southeast Asia - Week of April 16 - Bangkok

And I'm off on my latest travel adventure. 1:40 am departure on Saturday, April 15 to Bangkok connecting through Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. Hong Kong is a 'short' 14.5 hours from Toronto. Arrived in Hong Kong to a deserted airport - it was 4:30 am after all. Enough layover time to have a shower, shave and change clothes for a much warmer climate.  Arrived Bangkok on Sunday, April 16 at 10:30 am local time. Total travel time including layover - about 21 hours. Decided to travel to my hotel by taking the rail link from the airport connecting with Sky Train that has a stop about 10 minute walk to my hotel. I had reservations at the Adelphi Grande, same hotel I stayed at in my first visit to Bangkok in 2020. Taking the train/Sky Train combination was a fateful decision. Unfortunately, I had my wallet stolen (pickpocketed) which had my debit and credit cards along with a small amount of cash.
